digipan

Digipan stands for

“Digipan Panoramic Tuning” simplifies the simplicity of PANORAMIC reception and transmission for PSK31 and PSK63. The digital display provides a panoramic spectrum display in the form of an active disc scale that spans the full width of the manual digital display.

Depending on the transmitter and receiver bandwidth, it is possible to “see” up to 40 to 50 PSK31 stations simultaneously. Low cost transceiver kits for 10 meters, 20 meters, 30 meters, 40 meters, 80 meters, PSK-10, PSK-20, PSK-30, PSK-40, Warbler (PSK-80) are available in mini WonderLabs drives Fully utilize the panoramic capabilities of manual setup by using a 3000 Hz bandwidth.

All stations in the cascade are now decoded simultaneously, the call sign and text for each station are continuously displayed on a separate multi-channel display.

PSK31 SOFTWARE

DigiPan

DigiPan means “digital panoramic setup” and provides the ease and simplicity of PANORAMIC reception and transmission to PSK31 and PSK63.

Digipan Guide is an easy to use PC software PSK31 / PSK63. Digipan was first released in 2000, and was one of the oldest (or perhaps the first) PSK31 programs to now feature a standard panoramic waterfall width. Diliman Sports has all the necessary features to run the PSK31 and not those that are not. Diliman remains one of the most popular PSK apps, although it hasn’t been updated since 2004.

Subscriber Comments: digipan’s strengths are its simplicity as they embody the spirit of QRP. However, it lacks customization features (for waterfall colors, skins, etc.)

Thanks to Grant, VK4JAZ, for his comments that we greatly appreciate.

Fldigi

From Paul (in the comments):

Fldigi Free is “a digital modem program for Linux, Free-BSD, OS X, Windows XP, NT, W2K, Vista and Win7”. It works on BPSK31, plus a long list of other modes, and it works even for many of us who have switched to using Mac! I really suggest trying it:

Free program for PSK31

DigiPan stands for “digital panoramic setup” and provides the ease and simplicity of receiving and sending PANORAMIC to PSK31. Digipak provides a panoramic display of the frequency spectrum as an active disk scale spanning the entire width of a computer screen.

Depending on the transmitter and receiver bandwidth, it is possible to “see” up to 40 to 50 PSK31 stations simultaneously. Three inexpensive sets of transmitters / receivers are available for 10 meters, 20 meters, 30 meters, 40 meters, 80 meters, and PSK-10, PSK-20, PSK-30, PSK-40 and PSK-80 are available in small WonderLabs benefiting Full panoramic manual capabilities with 3000 Hz IF broadband. An article on the panoramic transceiver can be found on page 33 of QST magazine in June 2000.

Other information on PSK31, including a downloadable version of the article, is currently available from the ARRL Technical Information Service.

Digipan An works best on a 486 or Pentium 100MHz or faster processor and requires Windows 95 or later

Tips:

Since version 1.6d uses a new log format, you will not be able to see old log data when upgrading from previous versions to 1.6d. To enter old log data in digipan 1.6d, go to file, select import ADIF and import program from file directory.

Windows 2000 users: If you receive a “Sound card is already in use or not present” error message when you try to play the Digipan directory, there may be a conflict with an audio modem driver that Windows 2000 installs by default , whether you have one or not. To fix the problem, go to Control Panel / System / Device Manager and look for a device called Unimodem Half Duplex Audio Device. Please disable or delete this device and this will solve the problem.

If you have trouble downloading or installing 1.6d, please download this compressed version: dp16.zip
Create a folder in Program Files called digipan directory and unzip dp16.zip in this folder. Drag a shortcut from the .exe file to your desktop and double-click the shortcut to start the 1.6d directory.
